Who receives my application?
Once Midwest Truck Driving Jobs receives your completed application, we
will pass it on to truck driving companies who are looking to hire
individuals with your level of experience and skills.
Are
there any costs to apply?
No, submitting an application and using our service is completely free.
What
if I have no previous experience as a truck driver?
We would still encourage you to apply even if you have no experience as
a truck driver. If you are interested in starting a new career as a
professional truck driver, we can place you with the best training
programs and truck driving schools throughout the Midwest.
How
long will it take to hear back from truck driving companies once I
submit an application?
While response times will vary from company to company, most should
contact you within two to three days after receiving your application.
What
kind of driving positions are available?
There are several different driving positions available with many
different carriers. Most trucking companies we recruit for are looking
to hire OTR (over the road) drivers. However, there are also some
offering dedicated or even local routes, though those positions are a
little harder to come by. The positions available to you really depend
on the amount of experience you have, where you live, and your job
preferences. We have connections with numerous carriers to help you get
the best truck driving job available to you.
I
am currently a company driver but am interested in becoming an
owner-operator. Can you help me?
Yes! Simply
fill out
the application, indicate your job preferences, and we can
match you with trucking companies that provide some of the best
owner-operator lease programs in the country.
I
have previous experience as a truck driver but have not driven for more
than a year. Can I still find employment?
Though most companies prefer to hire drivers with recent experience
(within the last 6 months), you should be able to still find employment
and the job you want. Depending on the company and driver policies, you
may be required to participate in a training course prior to driving
since you have been off the road longer than six months.
Can
I still apply if I have a previous felony conviction or DUI on my
driving record?
Yes, you can still apply but please disclose any convictions or driving
infractions you have so we can accurately place you with trucking
companies willing to review your application despite previous
convictions. Falsifying or concealing any past convictions on your
application is counterproductive and a waste of time since trucking
companies perform background checks on all potential employees before
hiring.
What
attributes should I be looking for in truck driving companies?
Most new truck drivers are concerned with pay rate and the amount of
time they will have at home. However, there are a number of other
factors you should consider including benefits offered (such as
employee insurance coverage), equipment accessible to drivers, and the
routes currently available. Midwest Truck Driving Jobs can help you
find the best possible job for you among a number of Midwest trucking
companies with the characteristics you are looking for.
